2020 Mayor-President Candidate Questionnaire

Dear Candidates,

Thank you for taking the time for our questionnaire. Though Baton Rouge has made some progress in recent years, our city remains a dangerous place for those who walk and bike. There are few bike lanes and paths in the city and they often don’t connect. Roads with very high travel speeds run right through the city and, in effect, create dangerous barriers for people to get to school, work, the grocery store or the doctor’s office. What little bike infrastructure we have is often in serious disrepair. Our state’s DOTD has shown little interest in creating safer streets. And it remains unclear how (or if) the city/parish will implement the Pedestrian/Bicycle Master Plan adopted earlier this year.

Therefore, we polled our members and the general public to determine what questions they would like asked of those seeking the highest office in the city/parish.
